Ridley Scott neemt Magic Castle film op zich

De film Magic Castle is al een langlopend project. Al in 2012 werd de film aangekondigd, en zou onder de vlag van 20th Century Fox uitkomen. Maar ondanks verschillende wijzigingen en cast en productie is Magic Castle er nooit gekomen. Nu heeft Ridley Scott de film opgepakt. Onduidelijk is of hij hem gaat regisseren, maar zijn bedrijf neemt in ieder geval de productie op zich.

Magic Castle speelt zich af in (of rondom) het gelijknamige gebouw in Hollywood. Een plek waar magicians samenkomen, en verblijven met hun gasten. Het leest bijna als een cult als je onderstaande beschrijving van henzelf erbij pakt:

The Magic Castle is the private clubhouse for the Academy of Magical Arts, Inc, a very special organization devoted to the advancement of the ancient art of magic. The purpose of The Academy is to encourage and promote public interest in the art of magic with particular emphasis on preserving its history as an art form, entertainment medium, and hobby. Beginning with a charter membership of 150, the Academy has grown into a world-renowned fraternal organization with a membership of nearly 5,000.
