Marvels Ant-Man 2 wordt rom-com?

Marvel films, of ze nou door Disney of door Sony worden gemaakt, zijn niet meer te vangen in 1 categorie. Spider-Man: Homecoming is losjes gebaseerd op een 80’s John Hughes film, terwijl Civil War meer naar een spy-movie neigt. Het aanstaande Infinity War is vergeleken met een heist-movie, terwijl X-Men: The New Mutants (2018) een ‘echte’ horrorfilm wordt. 

En zoals het er nu naar uitziet, wordt Ant-Man and the Wasp Marvels eerste echte romantische komedie. Uiteraard zal dat een groepje fans afschrikken, maar tegelijk zal er ook nieuw publiek naar de superheldenfilms togen, moet Marvel beredeneerd hebben.

Hoewel er van het scenario of plot nog vrijwel niets bekend is, liet Evangeline Lilly (die The Wasp speelt) wat informatie los tijdens een recent interview met Vanity Fair. Ze impliceert dat Ant-Man en The Wasp een grotere rol gaan spelen in het MCU en later samenkomen in het multi-verse verhaal waar die-hard fans niet op kunnen wachten.

Those characters are experts in the quantum realm. In Ant-Man and the Wasp, they are trying everything in their power to safely enter the quantum realm and return back from it because they have evidence from the first film that Scott Lang was able to do that. If he can do it, why can’t we? If we do succeed in Ant-Man and the Wasp, then that does open a whole entire new multi-verse to enter into and play around in. I’m not the story creator, so I can’t tell you what they’re going to do with that. But I definitely see the potential there.
